Tatong Timber Tramline Tourist Trekking.

A section of the historic Tatong Timber Tramline has been opened and is available for guided walks (pre-arranged ) along this section. The walk will take about 45 minutes and with travel to and from a total time of an hour and a half will be needed for this walk into history. In spring and early summer many wildflowers can be seen, including native orchids, not only along the track leading to the tramline, but also on and about the tramline section.

The walk is graded as easy, however a dry creek needs to be negotiated at the beginning of the tramline. Good footwear is required, and if needed, water can be taken. An extended walk of two hours, rated hard, can also be arranged, this walk will enable walkers to see views over Tatong and as far away as the Dookie hills and Lake Mokoan.

For further information and bookings contact Greg Kirk on (03) 5768 2219 or the Tatong Tavern on (03) 5767 2210.
